The trick is that the adjective form of 'once a month', monthly, just happens to be the same as the adverbial form, monthly; the reader automatically assigns the word to its correct role based on its placement in the sentence.

13 thg 4, 2012 · I like thrice-monthly. It is essentially one word, it means three times a month and, unlike trimonthly, is not easily confused to mean 'every three months' instead of 'three times a month'.
While one question could be about what does bi- stand for, my question is what better one word is there for 6 months like daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly. My guess it there might be one that I don't know of.
